Weighted Runs Created Plus
Runs created per plate appearance, against the league and park. 100 is average.
What it actually is. Weighted runs created, adjusted for park and league and scaled to 100 as average. It answers one question: how much offense did this hitter create compared with everyone else that year.
What a scout reads off it. Probably the best single number for a hitter in existence, and the reason is the same as with OPS+ but with better arithmetic underneath: it uses the real run values of every event rather than a stack of two percentages.
Where the lines are. 100 is average, 140 is a star, 160 is an MVP candidate, 80 is a defensive specializt.
