Wild Pitch
A pitch so wild the catcher had no chance, and a runner moves up.
What it actually is. A pitch the catcher could not reasonably be expected to handle, that lets a runner advance. Charged to the pitcher.
What a scout reads off it. Wild pitches cluster with two things: breaking balls thrown in the dirt on purpose with two strikes, and pitchers who have lost the feel for one. A staff with a lot of them is usually a staff with a lot of sliders and a catcher who blocks well enough to be asked to.
