Home Run Per Fly Ball Rate
Share of fly balls that leave the park.
What it actually is. The share of a player's fly balls that left the park.
What a scout reads off it. For a pitcher it is mostly noise and drifts back to league average; for a hitter it is much more real, because elite power hitters clear fences with a higher share of their fly balls year after year. Same number, different meaning by side, which catches people out.
