2012 College World Series
Arizona over South Carolina at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.
What happened. Arizona won the 2012 College World Series, beating South Carolina in the final, under Andy Lopez. It was played at Charles Schwab Field Omaha, Omaha.
Where it sits. The 4th for Arizona, and still the last one. The wait had been 26 years, which is most of a coaching career. South Carolina had already won 2 of them, most recently in 2011, and has not won one since.
What the tournament looked like that year. Same path, but the championship becomes a best-of-three series. That format ran from 2003 through present.
The ballpark. Opened as TD Ameritrade Park and renamed in December 2021 after Schwab bought Ameritrade. Same building.
