2005 College World Series
Texas over Florida at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium.
What happened. Texas won the 2005 College World Series, beating Florida in the final, under Augie Garrido. It was played at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium, Omaha.
Where it sits. The 6th for Texas, and still the last one. Their second in 3 years, so this was a program at the top of the sport rather than a program having a season. Florida lost this one and won its own in 2017.
What the tournament looked like that year. Same path, but the championship becomes a best-of-three series. That format ran from 2003 through present.
The ballpark. Sixty-one tournaments. The reason Omaha means what it means.
