1954 College World Series
Missouri over Rollins at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium.
What happened. Missouri won the 1954 College World Series, beating Rollins in the final, under Hi Simmons. It was played at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium, Omaha.
Where it sits. Missouri has won the College World Series once, and this is it. Rollins has never won one. Reaching the final is as close as that program has come.
What the tournament looked like that year. Eight teams, one pure double elimination bracket. The classic Rosenblatt format. That format ran from 1950 through 1987.
The ballpark. Sixty-one tournaments. The reason Omaha means what it means.
